Botswana Diamonds Awaits Licences for Orapa Region Exploration

Mining Weekly reported that Botswana Diamonds said its possible joint venture with a “major international diamond producer” is continuing negotiations and still subject to board approval. Currently, it is waiting for the exploration licences so it can start work on newly identified exploration targets on the north-east portion of Botswana, particularly in the Orapa region.

As quoted in the market news:

Botswana Diamonds was currently awaiting the licences required for work to be undertaken in the region, after which detailed analysis would start.

The international partner held technology that was able to identify diamondiferous kimberlites in specific areas ranging from 3 km2 to 20 km2.
