As quoted in the market news:

Gov. Bob McDonnell created the Uranium Working Group in January after he asked the General Assembly to delay any decision on ending a 30-year ban on mining the metal. That’s because he wanted state mining, environmental and health officials to more closely examine the consequences of mining and develop the regulatory framework and safeguards that would be needed if mining occurred.
