But media outlets report that Pittsylvania County’s resolution doesn’t make any recommendation on whether the state’s 30-year-old ban on uranium mining should be lifted or retained.

Instead, the resolution approved Monday by the county Board of Supervisors suggests that state lawmakers review studies of the proposed mining’s effects. It also cites the potential for hundreds of jobs, along with safety regulations and environmental concerns.
