    SMH reported News South Wales Deputy Opposition Leader, Linda Burney says allowing companies to express interest in uranium mining is testing the waters for uranium exploration.

    SMH reported News South Wales Deputy Opposition Leader, Linda Burney says allowing companies to express interest in uranium mining is testing the waters for uranium exploration.

    As quoted in the market news:

    About 100 protesters gathered outside Parliament in Sydney on Tuesday to mark the end of the government’s initial 60-day period for expressions of interest in uranium exploration.

    Ms Burney told them it was immoral for the state government to end a 26-year bipartisan agreement on uranium mining and suggested the next step would be giving them a green light to begin extracting the radioactive material.
