Niger Plans to Renegotiate Uranium Terms with Areva: President

Energy InvestingMining Weekly reported that Niger wants to renegotiate its partnership terms on uranium mining with Areva, a deal which generates €100-million for the country. Niger president Mahamadou Issoufou said they are also looking to partner with other mining investors in their effort to boost their country’s economy.

This represents just 5% of our budget, it’s not acceptable. That’s why I have asked to re-equilibrate the terms of the deal between Areva and Niger,” he said.
