Marathon Agrees to $5 Million Settlement from South Australian Government

Mining Weekly reported Marathon Resources (ASX:MDN) will receive $5 million from the South Australian government in a settlement after a uranium mining ban was proposed.

As quoted in the market news:

In November last year, the uranium explorer initiated legal action against the state government, after mining was banned on certain parts of the Arkaroola pastoral lease, including the entire area covered by Marathon’s Mount Gee exploration licence.
