Hydroworld.com reports Kazakhstan and Russia have signed agreements on cooperation in civilian nuclear power and hydropower projects.

Rosatom chief Sergei Kiriyenko said that since the two partners would not co-finance building a new enrichment facility, Rosatom would make shares of its Novouralsk facility available to Kazatomprom.

The two nuclear companies also signed a memorandum on forming a joint company to market and sell uranium.

Another agreement between the two countries calls for constructing a third unit at the Ekibastuz hydropower station in Kazakhstan.
