Uranium Energy Corp (NYSE MKT:UEC) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reaffirmed its earlier decision to uphold its granting of an existing Aquifer Exemption for UEC’s Goliad ISR Project. The background on this release may be found in UEC’s press release from December 12 2013.

As quoted in the press release:

The EPA decision supports the current plan of operations at the Goliad Project. EPA stated that the AE for the northwestern portion of the project, which contains less than 10% of the uranium resource, is temporarily being withdrawn, but not excluded from the AE, until additional information is provided for that segment of the project area in the planned and normal course of mine development.

UEC CEO, Amir Adnani, said:

The Company is pleased with this result which is in accord with our plans for the Goliad Project. UEC’s scalable hub-and-spoke strategy, a proven model for increasing uranium extraction and maintaining a low-cost profile, is continuing as planned. We are executing on this plan with the Company’s Goliad, Burke Hollow, Palangana, Longhorn and additional South Texas projects.
