Cameco Gets Environmental Recommendation for Kintyre Uranium Mine

Mining.com reported today that Cameco Corporation (TSX:CCO) has received approval from Western Australia’s Environmental Protection Agency, which will recommend state approval for the mine. The EPA gave its approval subject to certain conditions.

As quoted in the publication:

According to the regulator, Kintyre —located in the east Pilbara, near Karlamilyi National Park— can go ahead as far as Cameco monitors close by fauna including bilbies, mulgaras and rock wallabies, and assess any potential “radiological impacts to plants and animals.”
