CNBC reported Areva (EPA:AREVA) has lost $3.2 million in 2011 because of increased costs, management changes and mining troubles.

CNBC reported Areva (EPA:AREVA) has lost $3.2 million in 2011 because of increased costs, management changes and mining troubles.

As quoted in the market news:

The company said about much of those losses could be attributed to charges related to subsidiary UraMin, which it acquired in 2007. Many of the mining venture’s projects have struggled to get off the ground. Because of the tremendous costs incurred, Areva says it plans to increase oversight of future acquisitions.
