Courier-Mail reported an article arguing that uranium mining is the future for Australia.

Courier-Mail reported an article arguing that uranium mining is the future for Australia.

As quoted in the market news:

The Australian Conservation Foundation’s Don Henry, writing in The Courier-Mail yesterday, relied on a 30-year-old environmental incident to argue for again banning uranium mining in Queensland.

Don Henry’s position is a nonsense argument.

The practices used and the standards which apply to uranium mining, any mining, today are far more robust and transparent than they were in the early 1980s.

Uranium has been mined continually in various parts of Australia for the past 30 years and mining practice, governance and standards have improved continually during that time.
