TransCanada Halts Keystone Pipeline Activity

Reuters reported that a “small anomaly” prompted TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP) to close down its Keystone pipeline, which transports crude oil from Alberta to the United States. No leaks have been found, but the pipe is not expected to be operational for another three days.

As quoted in the market news:

The pipeline has the capacity to transport a quarter of Canada’s crude oil exports to the United States.

“Once re-start happens we expect normal operations and flows for the remainder of October,” TransCanada spokesman James Millar said. “We may have to make up some volumes in November but we are still evaluating this.”
