GE Makes Oil & Gas Acquisition

Zacks Equity Research reports that General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) announces that its Oil & Gas business will acquire the Well Support division of John Wood Group Plc for approximately $2.8 billion.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The transaction is expected to close in the latter half of 2011, subject to shareholders’ approval and customary closing conditions.
