Chevron offshore well encounters natural gas

Bloomberg reports that Chevron Corp (NYSE:CVX) announces offshore drilling operation close to Western Australia has encountered natural gas deposits.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Chevron, the second-largest U.S. oil company, said its exploration success in the Carnarvon, Australia’s leading hydrocarbon basin, underpinned further expansion opportunities for Gorgon, which is expected to be completed in 2014.
