BP Still Showing Environmental Problems, Suspended From U.S Contracts

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced on Nov. 28 that it has temporarily suspended BP from bidding on any new U.S. government contracts, citing the energy group’s “lack of business integrity” in regards to the Deepwater Horizon explosion.

Highlights from market news:

– Suspension will remain until company can provide sufficient evidence to the EPA that it meets federal business standards

– BP plead guilty to copious allegations including misconduct, obstruction of Congress and violation of the Clean Water Act among other things

– Company remains rated “D” on its environmental, social and governance risk overall
