Blackstone, Alta to Form $1 Billion Natural-Gas Venture

Bloomberg reported that Blackstone Group (NYSE:BX) and Alta Resources will form a joint venture that will invest in natural gas fields.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The new company will focus on acquiring leases and drilling wells in so-called unconventional fields, or geologic formations previously regarded as too hard to penetrate.
