Australian Mining reported that Bechtel Group Inc. will demobilize 150 construction workers at the QCLNG plant on Curtis Island in the coming weeks as site requirements decrease.
Australian Mining reported that Bechtel Group Inc. will demobilize 150 construction workers at the QCLNG plant on Curtis Island in the coming weeks as site requirements decrease.
As quoted in the market news:
A spokesperson for Bechtel said the redundancies were a scheduled phase of construction on Train One, which recently provided the first shipment of gas for export from Curtis Island.
A spokesperson for Bechtel stated:
We continually mobilise and demobilize employees as we move through the phases of construction.
As we move through commissioning and start-up of each of the six trains being built on Curtis Island, we will see a growing number of people demobilizing.
We currently have about 14,000 people working across the projects and that number will reduce gradually throughout 2015 and 2016 when all six trains are completed.
