Alix Discovers 4 New Lithium Mineralized Zones on the La Corne 2

Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) – Alix Resources Corp (TSXV:AIX) is pleased to announce its exploration program revealed four new mineralized zones located in the southern part of the La Corne 2 property where spodumene-bearing granitic pegmatite dykes are exposed. The property is located adjacent and on strike with the Chinese-based Jilin Jien Nickel Industry Co. (“Jilin”) Quebec Lithium Mine property.
Mike England, President and CEO of Alix Resources Corp. commented “This discovery is very significant for Alix as it gives us a clear indication that we have mineralized lithium zones on our property and provides clear guidance on our exploration program. These mineralized dykes appear to be along strike of the past producing Quebec Lithium Mine. Our business model is to acquire and explore lithium assets which have historical lithium resources or are near past producing. Once we have received the assay results from our recent grab and channel sampling program we will determine our next steps which will likely include more detailed mapping and geophysical surveys to unveil further mineralized zones followed by a drilling campaign on the more prospective targets.”
The initial program consisted of preliminary mapping of the principal exposed lithologies with an emphasis on granitic pegmatite dykes. Grab and channel sampling of spodumene-bearing granitic pegmatite dykes and other potential Li-bearing pegmatites was conducted.
Based on the positive geological observations from the recent program, the company is fast tracking the permitting of a maiden Phase 1 diamond drill program on these targets.
Two principal sites are characterized by spodumene-rich, moderately to steeply dipping dykes or a principal anastomosed dyke. One area exposes a dyke or a series of dykes striking 310° and extending for 230 m along strike, whereas the other area presents a dyke or dykes striking 127° with a length of 130 m. The new pegmatites sites are situated along the northwestern extension of the Quebec Lithium Mine spodumene-rich dyke swarm. The spodumene-bearing dykes present a similar mineralogy to that of their Quebec Lithium counterparts: quartz, feldspar, spodumene, biotite-muscovite, with accessory pink-yellow garnet, colombo-tantalite and molybdenite. Grab and channel samples of the Li-mineralized dykes were submitted to the ALS Chemex Laboratory, in Val d’Or, Qc and the results are pending.
