US Presses End of Conflict Minerals Use

The use of the so-called ‘conflict minerals’ like tungsten, tin, tantalum and gold, has been the cause of violence in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  The Obama administration has prompted the American industries to stop the use of the conflict minerals.

Under Secretary of State, Robert Hormats is quoted saying:

“We are working towards the common goal of ending the use of conflict minerals from the DRC.”
