SEC Delays Adoption of Conflict Minerals Rules

Reuters Africa reported that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has still not adopted regulations that would require companies to disclose the sources of the minerals they use to make their products.

The regulation, aimed at cutting the flow of money to armed rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighbouring countries, is part of the Dodd-Frank financial reform bill.
