Shuttered Queensland REE Mine Being Re-Explored

Exploration for rare earths and uranium has begun near the site of the old Mary Kathleen uranium mine in Queensland, News.com.au reports.

As quoted in the market news:

A joint venture between Brisbane-based Broughton Minerals and Orion Metals is believed to be the first to start looking for uranium since the Newman Government scrapped the ban on the industry earlier this year.

Although it is early in the exploration, Orion said rock chip sampling recorded “some very significant uranium and rare earth element” anomalies.
