Honda Extends Agreement for Reuse of Rare Earth Metals in Hybrid Cars

Mining Weekly reported that Honda has extended an agreement with TDK Corporation and Japan Metals & Chemicals Company to employ the reuse of rare-earth metals to make magnets used in hybrid vehicle motors.

As quoted in the market report:

Starting in March this year, Honda began supplying a battery manufacturer with rare-earth metals extracted from used nickel-metal hydride batteries, at a JMC plant, for reuse in new nickel-metal hydride batteries for hybrid vehicles.
