Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. (CVE:GWG) acquires 70.2% of all outstanding shares of Rare Earth Extraction Co. Limited.

Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. (TSXV:GWG) acquires 70.2% of all outstanding shares of Rare Earth Extraction Co. Limited.

The press release is quoted as saying:

Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. is an integrated Rare Earths processor. Its specialty alloys are used in the battery, magnet and aerospace industries. Produced at the Company’s wholly owned subsidiaries Less Common Metals Limited in Birkenhead, U.K. and Great Western Technologies Inc. in Troy, Michigan, these alloys contain aluminium, nickel, cobalt and Rare Earth Elements.

  1. Great Western management is following their plan of vertical integration, and are true to their word.

    Good to see solid management, moving forward to fill the critical REE shortages.

    According to the USA Department of Energy in any case scenario there shall be critical Rare Earth shortages for the next 15 years. Particularly critical for Dy Tb Y Nd Eu.

    Page 72 identifies only 7 Non Chinese companies in Rare Earth Production by 2015: Alkane Lynas and Arafura in Australia, Great Western and Avalon in Canada, Molycorp in the USA and Dong Pao in Vietnam.

    Great Western is on the list.
