2013 to be Banner Year for Chinese Magnesium Consumption

Platts reported that Chinese magnesium consumption is expected to hit a record high of 350,000 mt in 2013.

As quoted in the market report:

Looking ahead, China’s magnesium industry will be supported by a positive policy environment, including the scrapping of a 10% export tax on magnesium from January 1 this year, said Sun, adding that the government was also encouraging the use of magnesium alloy products in the transport sector.
