SQM: Lithium Facilities Operating Normally After Chile Storms
Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (NYSE:SQM) reported that it had temporarily shut down its operations in María Elena, the Salar de Atacama, and the Salar del Carmen as a preventative measure in light of recent storms in the north of Chile. SQM stated that the facilities are now operating normally.

SQM stated that the facilities are now operating normally.
As quoted in the press release:
There was no damage to the Port of Tocopilla, but operations have been suspended until improved weather conditions enable operations to be carried out safely. At the same time, the Company is providing support to its workers and their families who have been affected by the storms. SQM has also offered to help local authorities with clean-up and reconstruction efforts in the areas that have been impacted by the storm, especially in the city of Tocopilla.
