Noram Ventures Inc. (TSXV:NRM) confirmed thick intervals of graphite near the surface from drill results completed on the Kokanee Flake-Graphite Property in Nelson, BC. A graphite-bearing horizon in early Palaeozoic metamorphosed sediments over a 2 km strike length and up to 200 meters wide are indicated by surface exposures and an electromagnetic anomaly. Grades ranging from 0.70 to 7% graphite are shown in this zone by surface samples that have been collected. Six NQ diamond drill holes, that totaled 1,376m, were completed over a 1,200m strike length of the zone.

As quoted in the press release:

The drilling was successful in meeting its objectives. All holes intersected significant graphite mineralization, and preliminary results indicate the possibility of a continuous zone of mineralization over the full 1,200m strike length drilled. Drilling projects a down-dip depth of 150 to 200m and the zone is open in both directions along the 2km strike length.

Noram Ventures Inc. President, Dave Rees said:

The potential tonnage and grades are in line with other graphite deposits being developed in eastern Canada. And the Kokanee Property is one of only a few graphite projects currently being developed in western North America, which offers us an advantage in serving the markets of the northern Pacific Rim.
