Castle Silver Resources President and CEO Frank Basa (TSX:CSR) discussed the company’s focus points for the upcoming year. The company is currently redeveloping their permitted Castle and Beaver mines in the Cobalt camp in Ontario, where it has been for six years, culminating strong community relationships. Castle Silver is conducting further exploration on the properties and it has encountered exciting new findings.
Basa also discussed the importance of the Asian demand for cobalt as automobile manufacturers continue to develop the lithium-ion batteries in their vehicles. “The Asian market is quite important for us because the majority of cobalt metal is used for lithium-ion batteries that are going into cars being manufactured in Japan and China.”
