Red River Resources Ltd. (ASX:RVR) announced that it’s started drilling at the Thalanga East hanging wall target at its Thalanga zinc project.
Red River Resources Ltd. (ASX:RVR) announced that it’s started drilling at the Thalanga East hanging wall target at its Thalanga zinc project. The program is the company’s first at Thalanga, and initial results are expected in two weeks.
As quoted in the press release:
The Thalanga East Hanging Wall target was identified by the Company’s recent Induced Polarisation (IP) survey which identified a large zone of strong chargeability with a central core of moderate conductivity under 10-20m of cover. The location of the IP anomaly is coincident with a historical surface geochemical anomaly.
While the current geological interpretation identifies this area as sediments of the Trooper Creek Formation, a review of the historical shallow sparse bedrock drilling in this area has identified favourable strongly sericite-pyrite altered volcaniclastic lithologies having been logged, including rhyolite and Quartz Eye volcaniclastic rocks (the host rocks of the Thalanga massive sulphide deposit).
Donald Garner, managing director of Red River, commented:
We believe that the Thalanga East Hanging Wall IP anomaly is a highly promising target and look forward to the results of the drilling within the next fortnight.
