Fancamp Exploration Ltd. (TSXV:FNC) announced that trenching completed this past week at its NNE-trending fault corridor in Gaspe, Quebec encountered a “massive to semi massive sphalerite enclosed in strongly silicified siltstone.” That type of mineralization has not previously been seen in the district, and the zone is about 2 meters wide.
As quoted in the press release:

A grab sample from this zone returned a zinc value of 25%. In addition, immediately to the west of this occurrence in the trench, the host siltstone contains 30-40% sulphide bearing quartz veinlets. Further assays are awaited.
The Fancamp property cover some 12 kilometres of the Harriman fault structure, a splay of the Grand Pabos Fault system. Locally, along this corridor, prospecting has outlined clusters of angular mineralized boulders containing quartz veining in silicified fine grained sedimentary rocks of the Garin and Whitehead Formations which have yielded gold values in grab samples up to 29.5 gpt Au.
Further trenching is planned to ascertain the extent of this new zinc occurrence.

Merck (NYSE: MRK), known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for Priority Review a supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) for VAXNEUVANCE (Pneumococcal 15-valent Conjugate Vaccine) for the prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease in children 6 weeks through 17 years of age. The FDA grants priority review to medicines and vaccines that, if approved, would provide a significant improvement in the safety or effectiveness of the treatment or prevention of a serious condition. The FDA set a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA), or target action date, of April 1, 2022.

"VAXNEUVANCE has the potential to provide meaningful protection against invasive pneumococcal disease for children and infants by targeting pneumococcal strains, or serotypes, that contribute to substantial disease burden, including serotype 3, and broadening coverage to additional disease-causing serotypes, 22F and 33F, which are not included in the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) currently available for this population," said Dr. Roy Baynes, senior vice president and head of global clinical development, chief medical officer, Merck Research Laboratories. "We look forward to working with the U.S. FDA as it reviews what would be the first new option in pediatric pneumococcal vaccination in over a decade."

"While it is not yet known what action, if any, the EPA will finally take, we are cautiously optimistic about their commitment to consider new information that has become available since the 2014 Proposed Determination and to make science-based decisions," said Ron Thiessen, President and CEO of Northern Dynasty. "We do not know which new information they may use in their decision, but we believe that the strong administrative record of the overwhelmingly positive Final Environmental Impact Statement of 2020 that was prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should be an important part of it."
