Base Metals Investing Bloomberg reports the Micex Index (INDEXCF) advanced 0.5 percent to 1,499.70 while the RTS Index added 0.1 percent to 1,618.63.

OAO GMK Norilsk Nickel (GMKN RX) advanced for a second day after United Co. Rusal yesterday rejected Norilsk’s $8.75 billion offer for the 15 percent stake Rusal owns in Russia’s largest miner. Norilsk may make the same buyback offer to all shareholders in one to two weeks, UralSib Financial Corp. analyst Dmitry Smolin said. The shares gained as much as 2.2 percent and closed 1.2 percent higher at 7,167 rubles.
