Platts reportedĀ Kennecott Eagle Minerals doubts a newly filed federal lawsuit by a conservation group will affect a $500 million nickel and copper mine project in Michigan.

As quoted in the market news:

The Huron Mountain Club filed the complaint on May 6 in the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan in an attempt to derail the new mine. In the suit, the group claims construction and operation of the planned Eagle mine ā€œwill affect ā€˜jurisdictionalā€™ waters in that it will draw down water from the Salmon Trout River and wetlands,ā€ thereby decreasing the riverā€™s flow and temperature.
