Late last Friday, Reuters reported that Glencore Xstrata plc (LSE:GLEN) and Vale SA (NYSE:VALE) are once again talking about combining their nickel mining operations in Canada’s Sudbury Basin. Cost cutting is one reason they are considering the move.
