Glencore Reports H1 Profit of $2.47 Billion

CNBC reports Glencore International PLC (LON:GLEN) had a first-half profit of $2.474 billion, beating expectations and raising its share price.

The market news is quoted as saying,

Glencore on Wednesday announced it was bidding about 270 million Australian dollars ($283 million) to assume full control of Australian nickel miner Minara, offering AU$0.87 per share for the 27 percent stake it doesn’t already own.
