ABC reported that the government of Australia’s Northern Territory is satisfied with the environmental protection measures in place for a failed iron ore mine in the Roper region.

As quoted in the market news:

A team of inspectors from the NT Mines and Energy Department visited the Western Desert Resources (WDR) site last week to make an assessment on the flood mitigation works carried out by receivers Ferrier Hodgson.

Phil Hausler, executive director of the Northern Territory’s mines department, stated:

We asked the receivers to undertake a series of works to prepare the site for the wet season.

The officers that went down there were reporting on those works and we’re reasonably satisfied with the works which have been completed.
