Sterlite Copper Smelter Closure Extended

Reuters reported that Sterlite Industries’s Indian copper smelter closure has been extended until at least May 14, putting upward pressure on copper concentrate processing fees.

As quoted in the Reuters report:

The Sterlite Industries’ plant, which meets half of India’s copper demand, was closed on March 30 after residents complained of emissions that led to breathing problems.
