Production Could Resume within Days at Grasberg

Reuters reported that production at Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold’s Indonesian unit could start as soon as in two or three days, after a tunnel collapse killed 28 people two weeks ago.

As quoted in the Reuters report:

The trade union representing the mine workers, however, has previously said that it wants all investigations into the cause of the accident to be completed before workers return. It plans to meet on Thursday to discuss whether it will support Freeport’s decision to resume open-pit mining.
