Platts reported that Norilsk Nickel’s copper brand was added to the list of approved brands for LME copper contracts. The Russian producer called the news a milestone for the company.
As quoted in the publication:
Wednesday’s registration of the brand, produced at Norilsk Nickel’s Polar Division, “is a milestone for the company, because it makes deliveries of Norilsk Nickel copper cathodes to the LME possible, puts NN products on the same shelf as that occupied by major copper peers and provides with new prospects for global sales of copper cathodes,” Markus Meurer, head of global sales at Norilsk Nickel, said in a statement.
Several of the company’s nickel brands are already registered at the LME.
