Mining Weekly reported that a government probe into at Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold’s Grasberg mine will likely not take the full three months that had been allocated, meaning that production could be back on line sooner than expected.

As quoted in the Mining Weekly report:

The three-month period stated by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik was not just for the accident investigation, but for the whole investigation and inspections of all underground mining in Indonesia,” Ridho Wattimena said.
