Reuters reported that Rio Tinto, who had planned to start first copper shipments on June 21 from its Oyu Tolgoi copper mine, is delaying at the request of the Mongolian government.

Reuters reported that Rio Tinto (NYSE:RIO), who had planned to start first copper shipments on June 21 from its Oyu Tolgoi copper mine, is delaying at the request of the Mongolian government.

As quoted in the Reuters report:

Oyu Tolgoi is ready to start its first shipments of copper concentrate from its Mongolian mine and all necessary permits to do so have been received from relevant authorities,” Rio Tinto spokesman Bruce Tobin said.
