The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) refused Chatham Rock Phosphate’s application to extract phosphorite, a component used in fertilisers, from waters up to 450 metres deep and 450 kms (279 miles) off New Zealand’s South Island.

To say we are bitterly disappointed is an understatement. We are aghast.
