Broadway Gold Mining Ltd (TSXV:BRD;OTC:BDWYF) and its Madison gold property in Montana were featured in this week’s The Northern Miner publication. The article describes the eight-square-kilometer property which saw mining operations in the first half of the 20th century, yielding 408,000 tonnes at a grade of 9.1 g/t gold. The company was then the site of a trial mine conducted by Coronado Resources in the 2000s.
“We’re taking a new, more systematic approach to the property,” Broadway Gold President and CEO Duane Parnham is quoted as saying. “Previous operators had fast-tracked trial mining, but it seems like they fell victim to the commodity cycle. The historical work has effectively solely focused around the known skarn-gold mineralization. Our team looked at the property and saw real potential within what is effectively a large-scale copper and gold porphyry district in the US.”
The article outlines the work that Broadway Gold has conducted on the property to date and the corresponding results, which include “39 meters of 1.47 percent copper and 0.42 gram gold from 150 meters deep in hole 17-5; 49 meters of 1.73 percent copper from 177 meters deep in hole; and 20 meters of 1.47 percent copper and 0.25 gram gold from 118 meters in hole 17-13.”
