SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB:SMME) — The massive half billion Yahoo email account password and data theft shows that passwords as an online security tool are seriously and demonstrably unsafe.
“It is now time for all network and online systems to adopt superior and safer log on security using biometrics,” said today SmartMetric’s President & CEO, Chaya Hendrick.
Biometric secure log on has long been seen by computer security scientists as being far more secure than alpha numeric based methods. Using biometric cards for log on take security to a much higher level.
Storing a person’s fingerprint on the card and having the card itself scan and match the person’s fingerprint. Then having the sign on card turned on following a positive match while the now activated security card is then inserted into a computer attached card reader.
This new Biometric sign on card technology developed by SmartMetric provides an incredible level of digital security. No passwords to enter, no central storage of passwords that can be hacked such as the Yahoo case and many, many others.
SmartMetric has created a multifunction biometric activated computer and network log on card that also functions as a physical biometric access card used to open doors.
The SmartMetric biometric security card has completed development and is now being manufactured. It is expected to be officially released in the coming weeks.

SmartMetric is the creator of the in-the-card fingerprint scanner for chip credit cards. It uses a SmartMetric developed miniature and super thin fully functional fingerprint reader that sits inside the credit card and security. The biometric reader is used to turn on the card’s surface chip following a fingerprint match and prior to being inserted into card readers or ATMs.

The SmartMetric solution overlays biometric protection on top of the new chip card technology now being issued across the United States. There are now more than 4.8 billion chip payments cards issued globally.
