Commerce Resources, Sandstorm Metals & Energy, Nevada Sunrise Gold, Bravada Gold and Stakeholder Gold were the top five gainers on the TSXV last week.
Last week, the share prices of a number of junior resource companies on the TSX Venture Exchange increased.
The five that saw the greatest increases were Commerce Resources (TSXV:CCE), Sandstorm Metals & Energy (TSXV:SND), Nevada Sunrise Gold (TSXV:NEV), Bravada Gold (TSXV:BVA) and Stakeholder Gold (TSXV:SRC).
Commerce Resources
Commerce Resources, a Canadian junior focused on tantalum and niobium exploration in British Columbia, gained 48.15 percent last week to trade at $0.20.
On April 23, Commerce responded to a commentary published by Rockstone Research about rare earth deposits, confirming that all the report’s information about the company was approved by a qualified person. It also disclosed that it is completing an infill drill program at its Ashram deposit in Northern Quebec; Ashram has a measured and indicated resource of 29.3 million tonnes.
Sandstorm Metals & Energy
Sandstorm Metals & Energy gained 47.92 percent last week to trade at $1.42. The spike in share price was followed by the announcement of a plan of arrangement with Sandstorm Gold (TSX:SSL) whereby Sandstorm Gold will acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Sandstorm Metals. Sandstorm Gold will then issue all shareholders of Sandstorm Metals & Energy 0.178 of a common share in Sandstorm Gold and $0.35 per share.
Nevada Sunrise Gold
Nevada-focused gold exploration company Nevada Sunrise Gold was up 31.82 percent last week, trading at $1.14. Last week, the company announced the remaining drill results of its winter 2014 drill program, commenting that project operator Pilot Gold (TSX:PLG) reported high-grade gold mineralization intersects.
Included in the results are 21.3 grams per tonne gold in 29 meters at the Kinsley Mountain project; that includes an interval grading 46.4 grams per tonne gold over 4.9 meters.
Bravada Gold
Bravada Gold gained 29.41 percent last week to trade at $0.11. Bravada is an exploration-stage company operating in Canada and the US. Its Wind Mountain project near Reno, Nevada is a low-sulfidation gold and silver property with 138 mineral claims. The company also has the Quito project, which consists of 342 claims on the Austin gold trend in Nevada.
Stakeholder Gold
Stakeholder Gold rose 28.21 percent last week to trade at $0.25. Stakeholder is a junior mineral exploration company focused on the Bass River iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) project located on the Cobequid-Chedabucto Fault Zone in Central Nova Scotia, Canada.
In early April, Stakeholder entered into a letter of intent with Cogonov to secure the right to earn a 51-percent interest in the Londonderry IOCG project by making certain expenditures and work commitments.
