Though low physical demand is curbing silver’s price, it managed to rise on the back of escalation in the Ukraine crisis. The country has put on a display of military power ahead of Thursday’s talks between four major powers.

“Pre-holiday profit-taking could intensify once more, should the Ukraine summit on Thursday result in a mutually agreed plan on further de-escalation of the crisis,” VTB Capital analyst Andrey Kryuchenkov told Reuters.
