Silver futures for December delivery fell today to their lowest level since October 17, touching $21.56 an ounce, Bloomberg reported. They later rose slightly, to $21.65 an ounce — that is still down $0.04 from the previous session.

The white metal was weighed down today by the strengthening of the US dollar. Its lackluster performance has affected the gold/silver ratio, which is the number of ounces of silver needed to buy an ounce of gold. Today the ratio reached 60.8, its highest level in a month, Reuters said.
