Silver futures for December delivery lost $0.26, or 1.3 percent, to sink to $21.57 an ounce, reported MarketWatch. Though spot silver reached $21.74 per ounce earlier in the session, according to Reuters, it later fell to $21.51.

US lawmakers have until the morning of October 1 to agree on a budget and avoid a shutdown, MarketWatch said.
