iNVEZZ.com reported that silver has been on the rise today in the wake of yesterday’s Malaysia Airlines tragedy. The white metal had spent the previous four sessions on the decline.
As quoted in the market news:
Front-month silver futures were up more than 1.61 percent as of 07:17 BST to $21.12 a troy ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). The price is 3.6 percent above its 200-day simple moving average. The white metal lost more than 3.5 percent in the previous four sessions as Portugal’s financial woes appeared to be localised causing worries over systemic risks to subside. Silver was also weighed down by market speculation that interest rates in the US might be raised sooner than expected.
