CME Plans 1,000-oz Silver Contract for June

Reuters reported that the CME Group plans to launch a 1,000-ounce silver futures contract that will begin trading in June as an effort to increase silver trading volume.

As quoted in the market report:

 CME Group’s new product is set to compete with NYSE Liffe’s existing 1,000-ounce mini silver futures contract, which has generated interest among participants who prefer to trade smaller silver futures.
