BHP Drops Out of JV with Breakaway

Mining Weekly reported that BHP Billiton (NYSE:BHP) has decided not to pursue a joint venture on the Queensland-based Altia silver/lead/zinc project.

As quoted in the market news:

The decision was based on the results of a commercial and technical review of the operation, following a diamond drilling programme surrounding the 7.5-million-ounce Altia silver deposit.
