Explosion Kills Two at Harmony Gold’s Joel Mine

Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd. (NYSE:HMY) announced that an underground explosion at its Joel mine, located near Theunissen, killed two contracting employees and injured two other workers.

As quoted in the market news:

Investigations are currently underway to establish the cause of the explosion. All drilling and blasting operations at the mine have been stopped until investigations have been completed.
